This stop was really to round out our earlier visit to northern Vietnam. We didn’t really have an agenda other than eating Vietnamese food and drinking Vietnamese coffee. Much of what the tourist trade is focused on here is around the remains of the Vietnam War and that’s just not where our interest lies.
We arrived at Saigon’s airport around midnight to this scene. Utter chaos. Apparently this is when a lot of flights arrive here and so the airport was filled with people running to and fro.
We were not among those people as we were both not feeling great and were tired as it was 2am on our body clocks (Seoul time). Fortunately our driver from the Park Hyatt was waiting to whisk us away to our lovely suite.
In the lobby of the Park Hyatt they had a gingerbread replica of the hotel. It was amazing and apparently edible too.
As you can see it’s a grand and ornate hotel. Our suite matched that theme nicely.
The bedroom was gorgeous as was the separate living room.
And the bathroom was incredibly spacious as well.
We loved our stay at this hotel.
