Part of what made our visit to Vienna so wonderful is that Vienna is a place that enjoys life. The cafe society is alive and well here and people are enjoying it. It gives you a certain comfort to know that this exists somewhere in the world. I got the strong feeling that they were having a way better time than we do in the U.S. They’re working to live, not living to work.
Zum Schwarzen Cameel was a hotspot the entire time we were in Vienna. If you look closely you’ll see that all those people down there are holding wine or champagne glasses.

We loved being here and it was fun being here on the cusp of the New Year as Vienna was all decked out for a big celebration.

Everywhere you looked you saw decorations ringing in the New Year.

And Vienna did its best to put a romantic foot forward.

On New Year’s Eve, as we walked to dinner, we passed several beautiful Baroque buildings that are all throughout the old city. New Year’s markets were in full swing.

And this beauty.

We’ll definitely return to Vienna and if you haven’t been you should think about it.
New Year’s Eve was the last night of our incredible trip. Even though it was a long trip it’s never enough time to see and do everything you want! The best you can do is see the highlights and make mental notes about where you’d go back and spend more time.
