Over the years we’ve taken some wonderful trips. It’s here that you’ll find links to each of them. Hopefully you’ll find them useful if you wind up going to one of these places!
2023 Nordics, May 25-June 5, 2023
This was our first trip to any of the countries we visited. We started in Denmark, then Sweden, followed by Finland, with a short trip to Estonia. Really an eye opening trip that explains so much about why people love Scandinavia so much.
We were there just before the summer solstice, so days were long and nights were pretty much just twilight.

2022 Alps, December 24, 2022-January 1, 2023
United had some seriously great fares available in Business and Premium Economy and so we seized the day and went the Alps for the holidays.
A few days in the capital of Bavaria, Munich, followed by a couple of days in the heart of the Swiss Alps in Zermatt, and then finishing up in Zurich.

2022 Portugal & Spain, October 28-November 7, 2022
Well we finally made it to Portugal after half the world has already been. Add us to the long list of fans! If you haven’t been, try and make it – it’s definitely worth a visit.
Madrid was also fantastic. It gets overlooked by everyone that wants to go to Barcelona, but Madrid has a lot of charm.

2021 Turkey, November 11-29, 2021
This was some trip to pull off. An incredible amount of planning went into this so that we could squeeze as much into our time as possible.
The trouble with Turkey is that there is so MUCH to see that you really have to be brutal with your choices.
And even then you’ll be missing a ton. This was a driving trip – 2,500 miles – across Turkey. The original intention was to plan a trip well in advance that would minimize potential COVID exposure and this was it.

2021 France, August 6-14, 2021
Back in the saddle! After 20 months of no flying we finally couldn’t take it anymore and as soon as we could we got on a plane.
Flights were wide open still so we flew standby to the City of Lights and had a lovely time just being.
Paris was unusually empty – even for August – as there were practically no tourists in town. In addition to seeing some old haunts in Paris, we spent a few days castle hopping in the Loire Valley.
France just never disappoints and it never get dull. You can read all about this quick trip here.
2019 Italy, December 21-31, 2019
A very last minute trip that proved to be very timely. Little did we know that COVID would shut down the world just 2 months later and was already stalking us in Italy in December.
Nevertheless this was an incredibly fun trip that was very impromptu. We flew standby and booked our hotels once we landed in Milan.
Turns out we were exactly in the provinces where the pandemic started to explode in Europe and the United States. This also was our last trip for nearly two years as the pandemic raged.

2019 Africa, May 11-27, 2019
What an incredible trip this was. I don’t think we ever imagined how much it would stay with us. But it has and we’d encourage everyone to do this trip at least once.
We flew into Livingstone, Zambia and then pressed on into some of the best game reserves in Africa. We even were able to make it the incredible Okavango Delta in Bostwana.
The trip finished up in Cape Town with a side trip to the South African wine country to the east of there. A fantastic trip that you can read all about by clicking here.
2018 Top of the World, September 14-October 1, 2018
We had originally wanted to squeeze in a trip to Tibet, but the visa requirements were too difficult to overcome in the time we have planned for the trip. Tibet is difficult to enter from outside China, so we’re going to save that stop for another time.
Our first stop was the mystical city of Kathmandu.
Nepal is the birthplace of Lord Buddha and the home of over 130 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Unfortunately much was damaged in the devastating 2015 earthquake, but there is still lots to see.
Our next stop was the tiny country of Bhutan.
Our third stop was a shopping stop in Shanghai. We haven’t been to Shanghai in nearly seven years and couldn’t wait to get back.
Our trip is ended in Tokyo, which is one of our absolute favorite places on earth. Tokyo is such an arresting place that it gets right into your soul. The people are so incredibly friendly and fun, the restaurants and food scene is the best on earth — even better than Paris — and the sights are never-ending. If you haven’t been hurry and go,

2017 Around the World, December 12, 2017-January 1, 2018
Our third Around the World extravaganza!
This time we visited Seoul, South Korea, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, then the Sri Lankan countryside (beautiful!), followed by an amazing stop in the desert country of Oman, before finishing our trip in Vienna, Austria on New Year’s Eve. A tremendous trip visiting some truly gorgeous countries.

2016 Barcelona & French Riviera, December 17, 2016-January 1, 2017
Our first ever trip to Barcelona followed by a trip through the French Riviera, then a stop in Lyon, capped off by a few days in Paris. This was definitely an eating trip!
Barcelona was so fantastic that it’s difficult to see us not going back for another visit. Easily one of the three or four best European destinations so if you haven’t been you should think about it.

2016 Australia & New Zealand, May 14-31 ,2016
New Zealand really was the star of the show on this trip. Absolutely stunning and incredible, we can’t wait to return. One notable feature of this trip was our trip there and back — all on Singapore Airlines in their wonderful First Class Suites from New York to Frankfurt to Singapore to Sydney and then returning from Melbourne to Singapore to Frankfurt to New York. Altogether it added up to nearly 33,000 miles of flying!

2015 Around the World, December 12, 2015-January 1, 2016
Yep, we did it again at the end of 2015. We had so much fun in going around the world in 2013, that we decided to do it again! This time we went the other direction and passed back through London on our way to Abu Dhabi and the Grand Mosque.
Then off to Bangkok for some really great Thai food as well as a few temples. Then we hopped over to Angkor Wat for a truly memorable 24 hours. After we finished sweating like horses in the jungles of southeast Asia, we stop in Hanoi for our first (but definitely not last) trip to Vietnam. Then a quick pit stop in Hong Kong! Lastly a few days in Los Angeles recovering from this whirlwind trip.

2014 Japan, October 22-November 3, 2014
Our first trip to Japan, and it was in autumn 2014. We LOVED Japan and won’t hesitate to go back, especially Tokyo. Such a fantastic city with lots to see and amazingly comfortable. With 38 million people in and around Tokyo, we had imagined, I think, some place much more frantic than it turned out to be. Instead we found a city of neighborhoods and many quiet spaces with lots and lots of greenery and trees.

2013 Around the World, October 30-November 16, 2013
Ahoy there! Phileas Phogg did it in 80 days — we did it in just 18. And in First Class, no balloons necessary. Follow along while we visit Hong Kong, Mumbai, Istanbul, and London as we travel around the world in style.
It really is amazing how quickly you can get around the world!

2013 Chile, May 24-30, 2013
We got a screaming deal on Business Class tickets on LAN Chile that wound up costing us just about $500RT per person. Join us for a super quick trip to the other side of the equator in Chile.
