If you haven’t been to Tokyo it’s likely that your impression from afar is that the culture is very buttoned down and reserved. Of course some of society is like that, but the people you interact with on the street or in restaurants and stores are fun and outgoing and welcoming and so kind.

We had a lovely time in Asakusa (THE neighborhood in Tokyo) just sitting at a table having a beer and watching the world stroll by.
We even saw girls dressed as geishas taking selfies.
The streets in Tokyo are always jammed with people, especially in the most popular shopping areas like Harajuku.
But minutes away in Yoyogi Park you’re treated with peace and tranquility that you didn’t think was possible in a city of 38 million people.

And if you’re fortunate you can witness a Shinto wedding procession, which are so beautiful.
Go to Tokyo. Breathe it in and revel in it’s beauty. But don’t forget to eat!
