We arrived at Abu Dhabi airport at 01:30, made our way through customs and immigration and found our chauffeur who was hired courtesy of Etihad to take us to our hotel on Saadiyat Island.
Saadiyat is a man-made island connected to the rest of Abu Dhabi by a bridge. It contains several posh resorts now and will soon add the Louvre Abu Dhabi and Guggenheim Museum Abu Dhabi as well.
We arrived at the hotel around 02:00, checked in and took the loooooong walk to our 1 bedroom/1.5 bath Park Suite with a sea view.
The living room from the sofa looking towards the bar.
The master bedroom
Master bath with soaker tub
Walkin shower
The hotel is gorgeous and the grounds have dozens of date palms around the pools and the buildings.
Here’s what the pool area looks like at night.
And then also the pool area during the day
Our suite is located on the top floor of one of the wings that reaches out to the Arabian Sea from the main building. You can see it in this picture – top floor, two right balconies are ours (one off the living room amd one off the master).
And from those balconies we have this lovely view.
We’re close enough that we can hear the waves crashing on the beach.
