Our stay in Mumbai is drawing to a close at the truly evil hour of 4:40am!
What’s really bad about that is that they want you at the airport 3 hours before and it’s potentially a 1 hour (or more) ride to the airport. So we left The Oberoi at 1:00a, meaning nothing more than a nap tonight.
Getting to the gate is a process here. First is the document check at the doors into the terminal. They want to make sure you’re supposed to be here right now, so you have to show them proof of travel.
Then queueing up for checkin at the ticket counter, which was pretty typical.
Then another queue to pass through “immigration”, and then lastly security.
We were fortunate that it took js just one hour to get it all done and are now sitting in the Club that Qatar has contracted here at Mumbai.
The real jewel of the day will be the Premium Class Terminal in Doha. I’ll describe that experience once we arrive at 6:10a in the land of Qatar after our 4 hour flight across the Arabian Sea.
