As this is a super quick trip through Bavaria and Switzerland we had only one last day to see a couple more sights.
The museum scene in Munich is fairly strong, with the most notable being the Deutches Museum. That is more like a natural science and technology museum so we chose to find where they have their modern art.

We made our way to the Pinakotek Modern to see an exhibition of Max Beckman. It was extensive! No pictures to share because they were on the lookout for picture-takers but it was an excellent exhibition.

Our other stop on our last day was at the Frauenkirch, which is the iconic church in central Munich and the main cathedral for the city.

Also mostly destroyed during the 1944 bombing, it has been rebuilt and reopened to worshippers.

Really large but unremarkable inside, the uniqueness of the building lies in the twin bell towers rising above the church.
Visitors can climb 86 very narrow and winding stairs for a view of Munich. We didn’t however. But buildings in Munich are forbidden from rising above the Frauenkirch, so from on high you’ll get a nice view of the city with the Alps in the background.
Tomorrow we take the Glacier Express deep into the Alps in Zermatt!
