We wanted to experience Bhutanese cuisine at least once while here so I booked us into a restaurant known for it. Bhutanese cuisine is not exactly revered outside Bhutan, but it’s interesting nonetheless.

The dining room was lovely, it felt like a lodge in the woods.

We came here because of their set menu. Here is what it looked like.

You’ll see a lot of vegetables on the menu. Our first two courses were served together – buckweat momo filled with local mushrooms and an absolutely amazing mustard green soup.

The ingredient that made the soup was river moss. Yep. And it was delicious.
The entire rest of the main meal was service à la française.

Each dish had its’ own interesting flavor but we liked the chicken curry and organic rice the best.
we finished with a dessert of apple pie made with locally grown apples along with and apple cider ice cream. Both quite good.

To be honest nothing really stood out apart from the mustard green soup, but it all had nice flavors. Don’t be afraid to eat Bhutanese should you come here!

Looks delicious to me! Interesting ingredients – especially the moss – that I would love to try! Restaurant looks like a nice atmosphere, too.
