For nearly 100 years these trams have rolled up and down Hong Kong streets. They are as much a part of the DNA of Hong Kong as cable cars are to San Francisco. Except these actually are used as transportation whereas the cabe cars are more for tourists.
But let me tell you, there is no better way to see Hong Kong than aboard one of these trams.
The fare is H$2.30 (about US$0.40) and you can ride from one end of Hong Kong Island to the other. The great thing is you never know when you’ll make a new friend riding the trams.
