We are staying at Hyatt properties our entire way around the world, except for in Hanoi where there is no Hyatt. In Hanoi we stayed at the Sofitel Metropole near the Old Quarter. It was a nice hotel but there really is something to be said about status. The room we had was lovely, but not a suite. Uptown problem, but still… Otherwise the staff at the Metropole was just wonderful. The grounds of the hotel magnificent in a French colonial sort of way. The location peerless (which is what sold us ultimately).
But now that we’re in Hong Kong, we’re back in the perfumed arms of Hyatt and have a suite at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. This is for our luxe hotel fans:
Hallway leading to suite.
Lovely bedroom overlooking Central and the Harbor.
Living room overlooking the harbor.
One really nice thing about this property is that they give you a 4G phone that had unlimited data and voice and you cam turn it into a hotspot. So you essentially have free internet as you roam Hong Kong. A really nice Hyatt touch.
