Wat Pho is known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. We decided it might be our patron saint, hah. Also, let me point our that the name has nothing to do with the Vietnames soup of the same name. It is not the Temple of Soup.
Right next door to the Grand Palace you will find the temple and inside one of the buildings is the reclining buddha. It’s gigantic. The ceiling is about 50-60 feet high to give you some perspective.
It’s probably the size of a whale and looks gorgeous up close.
One nice thing about this temple is that even though you must take off your shoes (as in all the temples) they give you a little blue bag to carry your shoes in rather than leaving them by the door. It was crowded but manageable.
