Everywhere you look in Mumbai you will see some sort of food being sold. Mostly fruit and vegetables, but also a lot of street food, and occasionally you will see someone mixing up a masala.

There are dozens of different masalas that can be purchased, and each purveyor of masalas will sell the best known masalas. Then you have neighborhood mixers that make up and sell their own masalas. Mixing a masala is a labor of love and good mixes are highly prized.
