There is only one place in the world where you can be an unashamed ABBA fan and that’s at the ABBA Museum with all the other ABBA freaks swaying and singing to the endless hit songs produced by the famous Swedish quartet.
Does it get any better than this?? All ABBA, all the time. Everything you wanted know and more all in one place!
The museum was not shy about sharing even the smallest details about ABBA’s early years, through their world tours, and long line of gold and platinum records.
There were a lot of costumes.
Towards the end they even had hologram ABBA performing a short concert. Of course at the end of the tour they drop you off in the merch room and we were not immune to snapping up some ABBA merch, including this beauty:
Flat Agnetha will be joining us on our trips. You’ll never know where she might appear!
From the ABBA Museum we paid a visit to a photography exhibit called Fotografiska. It was underwhelming but located across the water from Gamla Stan and so we got a really nice panamoroc view of the Old Town.
Then we headed off to do something really strange – ride the Metro. The Stockholm Metro is known for its unique station architecture that makes them look as though they are carved directly from rock.
Not all of them are winners but we did set out to see a few of them.
Trains are clean, fast, and modern.
The most visually interesting was the Solna Centrum station and probably the most famous photo of the Stockholm Metro.
That almost brought our day to an end. We stopped for dinner at the Östermalms Saluhall in central Stockholm.
Dinner details forthcoming at the end of the trip. After dinner we walked back to our hotel in the late summer sunlight.
Stockholm is a fun place for sure and a very different vibe than Copenhagen.
“Well, I can dance with you, honey, if you think it’s funny. Does your mother know that you’re out?
And I can chat with you, baby, flirt a little maybe
Does your mother know that you’re out?”
