After a fantastic 10 days in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Estonia it is time to come home. Our flight from Helsinki back to Chicago had a late afternoon departure, and we’re flying with the sun so the entire trip was in the daytime.
That is pretty cool because then you can see the sights down below as you make your way west.
We flew north of Iceland and right through the heart of Greenland, further north than any other European trip.
We entered Canadian airspace over northern Quebec, which still looked frozen.
The ice on Hudson Bay was breaking up but still present even in June!
And then before we knew it, the magic words Prepare for Landing.
Touchdown was smooth and we rolled into Terminal 5. Off the plane, through immigration, and fewer than 25 minutes later on the L into the City.
We’ll finish up with a summary post in the next few days.
