I don’t know about you but all these different names for the temples all sound the same to me (not being a Thai speaker). And when you read the guidebooks they tell you all about each of the temples and why they are important. And then you promptly forget the names and why they are so important. Well let me tell you — all it takes is one visit to each of them and you won’t forget a thing.
Wat Phrakaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) is located inside the Golden Palace. You aren’t permitted to take pictures of the emerald buddha and the guards are very aggressive at confiscating cameras.
But the area around the Grand Palace is stunning. This is actually where the King of Siam used to live. So if you’re thinking about Yul Brynner in the King and I, this was his house! It was built in the 1700s and is located on a bend in the Chao Phraya River.
Extraordinary! Take a look:

It is amazing to me that you can spell them for your blog and you’d better not use them in our Words with Friends game…Ha! It is absolutely incredible architecture! Did you see Anna’s room? :). What an amazing trip we are having compliments of you two. Thanks for sharing. Pat
