Victor Hugo said
“He who contemplates the depths of Paris is seized with vertigo. Nothing is more fantastic. Nothing is more tragic. Nothing is more sublime.”
After six wonderful days of contemplating Paris with gusto we were forced to leave. Every time I leave Paris I fear I’ll never be able to return. It is one of the few places on earth that make you actually believe you can quit everything and go live there. Then reality crashes in and you realize it’s not to be. But we wore ourselves out trying!
So we climb into our taxi and make our way to Gare du Nord where our train for Brussels awaits.
Everyone was little pooped after five jam packed days in Paris.
But not before one last magical moment straight out of the movie Amelie. Yes, it’s a photomat repairman! We found the spirit of Amelie nearly everywhere we went in Paris.
And, of course, we were desperatley sad to leave our nest at the Park Hyatt Vendome. What a beautiful property and our stay was just amazing. Among the two best we’ve ever had along with The Upper House in Hong Kong.
