We were feeling pretty good about ourselves after our lovely dinner at Le 6 Paul Bert and got the idea that we should go see the Eiffel Tower light up on the hour. It lights up once an hour, ever hour until 02:00, every night. It was 22:42 and the next time it would light up was 23:00.
So we scampered into a cab and challenged our driver Arnold, from Ay-ee-tee (Haiti), to get us there in time. And he did! We went all the way from the outer reaches of the Marais to the Eiffel Tower in 18 minutes and he pulled up just in time to see it light up. We got a great view from underneath the tower.
It’s really tough to capture the flashing lights in a single photo (unless you do a time lapse photo), but you get the idea here.
