I’ve wanted to visit Greenwich for 25 years. It’s just a little out of the way, but now that London has grown outward, it’s a bit easier to get to than it used to be. Now it’s a short ride on the Jubilee line to Canary Wharf and then another short ride on the Docklands Railway to Greenwich.
The rail station at Canary Wharf is huge!
Once there you can put your feet on either side of the Prime Meridian, which is arguably way cooler than crouching in four states at Four Corners in the American Southwest.
That line passing between Jeff’s legs is the Prime Meridian, cool! A lot of really interesting an historical stuff happened at Greenwich that is related to how we view and use time. If you ever have the chance, this is a quiet little place to come visit when you’re in London. Full visit including travel time from central London can be done in about 31/2 hours.
Aside from that, the grounds surrounding the Royal Observatory are gorgeous. It was a very nice walk from the rail station to the Observatory.
