Just 75 years ago adventurous travellers would go down to the dock and board the most romantic machine known to man — the Pan Am Flying Clipper Boats. These marvels flew across the Pacific, hopscotching their way from island to island as passengers reveled in their luxury along the way.
Today we’re boarding the modern day equivalent of the Pan Am Flying Boats, the Airbus A380. It’s the whale of the sky. Takeoff weights approaching 1.3 million pounds, carrying as many as 800 passengers on the two separate decks. If you haven’t flown one it is a modern day marvel. Take a look:
