Our first stop today was at the Louvre – first thing in order to beat the hordes that would descend as best we could. We had another stunning weather day – bright sun and about 65 degrees. The next two days won’t be quite as nice, but won’t be terrible.
Because we were on a tight schedule, we had to pick just one 90 minute track at the Louvre to follow. We needed to get in AND out in two hours or less.
The 90 minute track we picked was the “Masterpiece” track and with it we saw…
…the Venus de Milo
The Winged Victory of Samothrace…
…the Mona Lisa…
…Napoleon Crowning Himself Emporer Before the Pope…
…the Oath of the Horatii…
…Odalisque…
…the Raft of the Medusa…
…of course the Louvre itself is an amazing building and a work of art on its own…
…including this beautiful sculpture which has an amazing likeness to a 2,000 year old person taking a selfie!
…who we promptly photo-bombed!
