Since we were in the neighborhood, we decided to go to the Tokyo Tower to take a look at Tokyo from on high. It wasn’t the best day as it was quite hazy today (tomorrow should be better but we’re headed to the mountains). Nevertheless we gave it a shot. You may have seen the Tokyo Tower before — it’s celebrating it’s 55th anniversary as a member of the Tokyo skyline and looks like this. It’s meant to echo the appearance of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
To be honest, the view from the top was underwhelming. Probably no better than our view from our room at the Park Hyatt. But sometimes the most unexpected things happen when you just go with it. And in this case that happened as we entered the lobby of the Tower and laid our eyes upon Miss Information Desk.
Loved her! Not to necessarily connect the two, but Halloween is gripping Tokyo and they embrace the holiday fully here — especially those people that are into “cosplay”, or costume play. We ran into two of these fellows at the top of the Tower. Tell me it wasn’t worth it!
Delicious.
