It would have been easy to become jaded after visiting several of the most beautiful places in England over the last few days. And then we arrived at Gravetye Manor.

After passing through the gates and driving for about a 1/2 mile through the dense forest, we arrived at the manor.

I’ll start with this: Gravetye Manor was the only place where we got lost trying to find it, even with a very reliable GPS. It is hidden in the wilds of Sussex and was stunning.
After checking in we were taken to our room via this staircase. It was a staircase that English country home dreams are made of!

In our room we had an incredible view of the gardens through the leaded glass windows.

You just can’t believe what your eyes are seeing!

We immediately left our room and walked the gardens outside.

In the middle of the gardens was a wisteria path.

Inside it was even more beautiful!

It doesn’t even look real, does it? Looking back at the house were also some really nice views.

Part of the ambience came from the manor house feel of Gravetye Manor, it was undeniably photogenic. We only had one night at Gravetye Manor which included dinner and breakfast.
Dinner is in their Michelin starred restaurant where the view from the dining room looks like this.

And then at breakfast the next morning in full light.

Honestly the view looked fake, but was absolutely real. The most incredible thing about Gravetye Manor is that it is just 13 miles from Gatwick Airport. If you find yourself in London, you can get to Gravetye Manor via a 30 minute ride on the Gatwick Express from Victoria and they will pick you up (for a fee) for the 20 minute drive to Gravetye Manor.
We finish our trip over the weekend in London!
