Unlike our last visit here we didn’t have a real agenda. There were a few places we wanted to go but if that didn’t happen because we were sitting in a cafe then that was alright.
We did, however, manage to see a few things.
Like the beautiful Place des Vosges where Victor Hugo once lived.
The obelisk in Place Vendome has been completely rehabilitated and so is no longer sheathed in a box like it was when we were last here.
We walked along the Seine and just breathed in Paris.
Saw St. Germain-des-Pres which was built 1,500 years ago and was once attacked by Vikings – that’s how old it is.
We rode the 67 bus up rue Monmarte to a chocolate shop that was supposed to be remarkable but turned out to be ordinary. Still good but ordinary. The monsieur in the middle here will one day be the CEO of SNCF.
We made ot to the fountain at Place St. Michel before the cold overtook us. The weather turned that mean Paris cold that settles into your lungs.
And we managed to score dinner reservations at Bistrot Paul Bert.
As well as Daniel Rose’s new restaurant Chez La Vieille.
We did manage to get to the Trocadero to snap a few classic photos of the Eiffel Tower!
Overall a lovely two days in Paris. You always want more no matter how long it is.
