Melbourne is known for its “laneways”, which are really just alleys that have been converted to other uses. Some have shops and restaurants lining them and other have turned into havens for graffiti art. Hosier Lane is known for it’s graffiti.
Floor to ceiling graffiti.
A lot of work went into some of these.
Some are of famous people.
Some have messages.
Or questions.
And people take the opportunity, as we did, to pose in front of the more elaborate works.
Overall definitely worth a stop on your tour of Melbourne.
If you’re ever looking for it on Google Maps, search for Rutledge Lane. For some reason it can’t find Hosier Lane but Rutledge is connected to Hosier so it will get you there.
