As we walked back towards the train station to leave Bruges, we saw a few more beautiful canals on the way.
Each and every canal was impossibly picturesque and on a gorgeous day like this you simply couldn’t walk by one without taking a picture even if you’d already taken 100 of the same.
.
At one point we made a left turn and walked right into a monastery where a wedding was just about to take place. The bride and groom were arranging themselves for pictures on this most gorgeous of days.
Our last stop in Bruges was the Church of Our Lady (Notre Dame) that contains the only known sculpture by Michelango that left Italy during his lifetime, called Madonna and Child. If you saw the movie Monuments Men, this is the church and sculputre that plays a large part in the film.
Up close she’s gorgeous.
And for such a small church it certainly was nicely appointed. The leaded glass windows look out at medieval Bruges.
