The Arc de Triomphe is such an imposing piece of architecture. It squats over the Charles de Gaulle Etoile like a lego block and demands attention to all who pass. It is a gorgeous piece of architecture inside which is hanging an enormous French flag.
Even where you’re underneath the arch it provides beautiful views,
It’s even better when you climb on top of it! We were among the masses at the Arc on this beautiful day that made the choice to climb all 271 steps from groups to roof. Ugh. Doesn’t sound like much but you’re essentially walking up the stairs of a 15 story building. And the stairs are circular, like you’re walking up a lighthouse.
But gosh, when you get up there you’re rewarded by these views.
