Kanazawa is known in Japan for its production of gold leaf. Everywhere you go here you’re reminded of that and in some shops you can buy flecks of gold that can be sprinkled on your food or drink (like what you find in Goldschlager).
Outside the garden they put it to use on soft serve cones. You can get vanilla, macha (powdered green tea), or a swirl and then have them sprinkle gold flecks on the cone.
We both got swirls — the macha was delicious!
