We had a list of different Japanese cooking styles or dishes we wanted to try while we’re here. Yesterday we had ramen while today we knocked off a couple more. The first was tempura at a cute little place called Tenmatsu which was located in Nihonbashi.
As is the custom you pay as you enter and order and then they seat you. This place, like the ramen palce yesterday, was just 12 seats with everyone gathered around the tempura chef as he cooked everyone’s meal.
We ordered the chef’s special which brought us several courses of tempura from shrimp heads to scallops to asparagus. It was simply delicious and it was quite popular.
All of it was served with a tempura dipping sauce mixed with Japanese Horseradish, along with some pickled vegetables, and rice. Big thumbs up!
