We returned to the Tokyo neighborhood called Asakusa today to see the shops around the Senso-ji Temple as well as the temple itself. Asakusa is a very lively place! Lots of sidewalk cafes with hundreds of people spending the afternoon in their favorite restaurant.
Activity all around you – shops selling all manner of things like this specialty shop that sold nothing but brushes. From cosmetic brushes to wire brushes to toothbrushes to paint brushes they had the gamut of brushes covered.
Asakusa even has modern rickshaws!
Amazingly narrow buildings in Asakusa. All are shoehorned right next to each other. This one had just one narrow apartment per floor.
Then our trip to Asakusa finished on the promenade lining the Sumida River where you get this wonderful vista of the Asahi Beer Headquarters with the Tokyo Skytree behind it.
