We had ramen for lunch at one of the places I pulled off a web site that raved that this place had the best ramen in Tokyo. Lines of up to two hours at peak times. Hmmm.
So the plan for our initial light day of sightseeing was to get our hands on a PASMO card which is an RF card (like Ventra) and is rechargeable and can be used to ride the Metro, and then do a couple of trial runs on the gigantic Metro system. If you’ve never seen a map of the Tokyo Metro, here you go.
Looks like a ramen bowl, right? Of course looking at this map made us want to try a ramen place for lunch and then go a little farther afield to “Kitchen Street”.
Lunch was interesting. We didn’t wait two hours, but we did wait 35-40min for a table in this 12 seat restaurant. At the front of the line you’re presented with this vending machine.
Which yielded this about 5 minutes later.
The ramen noodles were terrific, the soup we didn’t LOVE — thought it was actually better onboard ANA. But a nice lunch nonetheless.
