Today we took a ferry to the Asian side — across the Bosporus from the European side — to walk the old streets and maybe do some shopping.
The problem with shopping on the European side is that the shopkeepers are built for handling tourists, so they are relentless about getting you to come into their shops. Very few tourists make it to the Asian side, so it was a much nicer experience and didn’t require a fly swatter to keep away the annoying shopkeepers.
The ferry runs every 15-20 minutes through the day and takes about 20 minutes to cross over. It was a nice little ride. This was our captain for the trip.
Of course, more men sitting around, this time on the benches on the side of the ferry.
Soon we were in Kadikoy on the Asian side.
