Somehow Europe never disappoints, it’s like they know what they’re doing. This trip was no exception, we had a super time at each stop. Some fun things we saw along way follow.
Even Amazon has adapted their model to narrow and crowded European streets.
Seeing a cello walk down the street really only happens in places like Prague or Vienna. This was late in the evening so it may have been a long day for the cello.
What is it about disco balls that immediately make a room seem festive? Never wrong…
And who says the Dutch don’t have a sense of humor?
The latest trend in lighting a candle in church is to insert a coin and have a fake candle light up. Just doesn’t feel as solemn tbh.
At the Dohany Street Synagogue in Budapest, men were required to cover their heads inside. Their solution was to give uncovered men these small disposable yarmulkes made of paper to wear.
Came complete with bobby pin (which we saved)!
In Prague we found a bakery that makes only gingerbread cookies. Yep, and it was mobbed.
It seemed hard to believe but this is one of the three main train stations in Budapest. It’s called Kelenfold and is on the Buda side past the hills. Driving up we were certain that the taxi took us to the wrong place!
But just out of the frame was an elevator that we took down one floor where we found ourselves dropped into the middle of a bustling rail station. So weird! Trust the process!
So cute. We found this in Prague’s old Jewish Quarter. It was a plaque commemorating the location of the world’s first marionette union which was founded in Prague in 1929. Their charter is to bring together puppeteers and puppet enthusiasts to develop and promote the art of puppetry.
Such a delicious photo from the Schönnbrun Palace on a beautiful Vienna afternoon.
At first you want to poke fun, and you’d be forgiven if you’re giggling, but then when you think about it you realize that you really WANT to be her! She is out there being herself, husband snapping pictures, living out loud and doesn’t give a flip what anyone thinks. So really it’s something we should all emulate. We give her a big thumbs up!
One the other side of the camera we had us, sitting on the stairs of the Palace soaking up the sun. Love this photo and the one before of madame so a really good stop that day.
Agnetha joined us on this trip and had a great time! Her favorite, of course, were the disco balls.
One more post coming that will provide hotel and restaurant recommendations!
