Our third and fourth days on the boat were essentially days to relax on the deck while the villages on the Nile slowly floated by. Incredibly relaxing.
The deck has these super comfortable sofas lined around the perimeter and because there are only 18 of us on this cruise we had plenty of space for all.
Being with a group this small also allows the opportunity to meet people individually and really get to know them. We had Kelli and George from Boston, Mark and Ranjit from London, Abby and Ben from Denver, Maddy and Andy from Gibraltar, Annette and Colin from Canterbury, Marion and Thibault from Paris, and David and Marie from Los Angeles.
it was great how everyone was actively interacting with everyone and by day three it almost feels like vacationing with old friends.
Every meal was around a communal dining table and meals were served family style.
Periodically the boat would stop and allow folks to swim in the Nile.
The landscape changed as we made our way. It just seemed that no matter what we were looking at the view was fantastic,
In some cases the shore was covered in vegetation.
And in others the desert came right to the water. Every now and then you’d see the train from Aswan to Cairo pass by.
But at the end of the day it always resulted in a gorgeous sunset.
The pace is forcing everyone to slow right down, including us!
